> INSERT COIN TO CONTINUE
Jun. 1st, 2013 06:59 pmHey guys! So as you've all probably noticed, things have hit a bit of a lull around Jarjammed. We figure this has largely been due to factors outside of everyones control: like exams coinciding with the denizen wrap ups, and basically a theoretically busy time in JJ happening at the same time as a busy time of year. So yeah, we've lost some momentum.
However, this is supposed to be endgame, where big exciting things happen! And we are here to implore you to help us get things going again - so together we can get momentum back up for some fun before we bring this game to a close.
So, in the interest of getting things moving again, I'm going to talk to you about some things:
1) The Horrorterror's deadline has passed and is no longer and issue, and not something you need to wait for results on!
Thanks to Redglare, Steph, and Madame's deception, the Horroterrors have been betrayed and ostensibly locked out of the session by Sollux's code. This means there is no longer any deal compelling people to finish by a certain time - conveniently, though, the whole situations spooked everyone into getting their shit done, so now we're sitting pretty with a bred genesis frog, enough defeated denizens to have made it, and pretty much all our game obligations met.
2) Awesome. But now what?
Now...well, it's probably a point of confusion IC, because as you know, this whole session is kind of fucked up. But on an OC level I'll tell you this - as soon as is practical for people, the White King is going throw in the towel. No, he won't be defeated. Prospit's forces have become too organized and too powerful for that. But knowing the ultimate duty of the white court, the White King concerns with the present set up will finally lead him to to what he feels he was always destined to do - which is lose.
Of course, the rest of Prospit may not agree with this decision.
However, regardless, it does mean that the Black King is going to get a hold of the White King's staff and initiate the Reckoning. That's right - the meteors in the Veil will start launching in an attempt to destroy Skaia as the Black Royals gather there to defend their prize. This is the start of the 24 hour endgame sequence of the game.
3) That can't possibly be it, though.
You are correct! The players will all have to gather at Skaia for the final battle, which we will organize as soon as it is practical. However, as you are probably not surprised to hear, mid-endgame battle there is going to be a PLOT TWEEST.
(One that doesn't even involve the Horrorterrors!!)
4) That sounds amazing. So what should I be doing?
Said plot tweest is going to mark the start of the full endgame, the last major conflict before resolution. Until the Reckoning starts, the characters are not being pressured by any sort of deadline, and so you are free to do any kind of regular CR or player plot stuff you desire.
However, after the battle with the Black King and Queen happens, a conflict will be sparked that will start making things moving much more quickly than in the past. As such the mods have discussed the idea of slowing down the IC to OOC day ratio to something like 2 IC : 7 OOC days or even 1 IC : 7 OOC days.
While that may seem slow, it would better enable people to play out the action of what's going on. Which can make a huge difference when every hour in a day counts.
That's OUR side of things. But before I bring this post to a close, we'd like to ask some things of you. Firstly, what do you think of the idea of a slowed down game time ratio for end game? Secondly, do you have any suggestions for things you would like to have happen or methods we could use to make this end game play out the best for everyone involved?
All our cards are going to be on the table soon. Then it's just a matter of figuring out the best way we can all collaborate on the best ending possible.
